Description
DN125 Pipe Penetration Sleeve Assembly
A pipe penetration assembly designed to allow a DN125 nominal bore pipe to pass through a structural barrier — such as a wall, floor, deck, or bulkhead — while maintaining the integrity of that barrier. The designation R (X) typically indicates a project-specific penetration type, orientation, or drawing reference, and should be confirmed against the relevant project documentation.
Penetration assemblies of this type are supplied in various materials depending on the service environment and performance requirements. Carbon steel and galvanised steel are common for general industrial and building services use. Stainless steel grades 304 and 316 are specified where fluid contact or harsh environments demand greater resistance. Fire-rated assemblies incorporate mineral wool, intumescent compounds, or certified fire-stop materials to meet the required fire resistance classification. Watertight variants include rubber sealing elements in EPDM, NBR, or silicone to prevent ingress at the point of penetration.
Piping systems generally reference ISO 6708 for DN designation and ASME B31.1 or B31.3 for piping design. Fire-rated penetrations are tested and classified under EN 1366, BS 476, or UL 1479 depending on the jurisdiction. Marine and offshore installations must satisfy SOLAS watertight boundary requirements, with approvals available from DNV, Lloyd's Register, ABS, and Bureau Veritas where class certification is required.
Flanged, reinforced, or fire-rated assemblies can exceed 20 kg.
Applications:
- HVAC, domestic water, drainage, and fire sprinkler pipework in building services
- Fire-rated and blast-rated wall penetrations in oil and gas facilities
- Watertight and fire-rated deck and bulkhead penetrations on marine and offshore vessels
- Cooling water and process piping through concrete structures in power generation
- Pipes entering tanks, chambers, and treatment facilities in water and wastewater infrastructure
