B125 Composite Manhole Cover
This access cover is manufactured from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) composite and fitted within a hot dip galvanised steel frame. The composite construction makes it significantly lighter than cast iron equivalents — typically 30 to 70% lighter — while still achieving a B125 load classification under BS EN 124. This rating covers a test load of 125 kN, suitable for foot traffic, passenger vehicles, and occasional light commercial vehicles.
The plain solid top is non patterned and non badged. The composite material is non conductive, non sparking, and resistant to chemicals and weathering. It carries low scrap value, which reduces the risk of theft compared to metal alternatives. The galvanised steel frame provides structural strength and long term protection against corrosion in exposed or buried environments.
Applications:
- Utilities and infrastructure
- Electricity chambers
- Street lighting access pits
- Traffic signal chambers
- Telecommunications and fibre optic pits
- Water utility and irrigation control chambers
- Drainage inspection chambers
- Commercial and public areas
- Car parks and service yards
- Pedestrian areas with occasional vehicle access
- Residential developments
- Business parks and industrial access points
