Pipe Fittings

Pipe fittings are essential components to any pipeline system as they connect different sections of pipe, change its direction, or end its run. To ensure a seamless connection, picking the right pipe fitting depends on its application, pressure, temperature, fluid being conveyed, and industry standards.

The most common pipe fittings:

• Change direction: Bends & elbows are the most common fittings used to change flow direction and typically come in 45, 90, or 180 degrees.

• Joining Pipes: Couplers join same-size pipes while, reducers join different-size pipes, and pipe nipples (short, threaded pipes) connect fittings or equipment. Union fittings are detachable for easy maintenance.

• Branching: Tees and crosses create multiple flow paths and branches in the piping system. Tees have three connections, while crosses have four.

• Push-fit: These fittings allow for quick and easy connections without the need for soldering or threading.
• Flanges: Flanges are a common method for joining pipes, valves, and equipment, particularly in larger sizes and higher pressure applications. They are typically bolted together, with a gasket providing a seal.
