Stainless Steel 87.5° Pipe Bend
BLÜCHER's 87.5° pipe bend is used to change the direction of flow within a stainless steel drainage or process piping system. Manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel (EN 1.4404), it is suited to demanding environments where hygiene, durability, and corrosion resistance are critical requirements.
The 87.5° angle is commonly specified in drainage systems as a practical alternative to a true 90° bend, allowing smooth directional changes with reduced flow turbulence. The fitting connects into adjacent pipework via BLÜCHER's push-fit socket system, enabling straightforward installation between straight pipe sections.
AISI 316L stainless steel is selected for its low carbon content, excellent resistance to corrosion and chlorides, smooth hygienic surface finish, and suitability for chemical and washdown environments. These properties make it a reliable choice across a broad range of industries and applications.
Applications:
- Marine and shipbuilding — grey water, black water, drainage, and accommodation services
- Food and beverage — hygienic drainage, production washdown, and food manufacturing
- Pharmaceutical and healthcare — clean drainage, laboratories, and hospitals
- Commercial buildings — airports, hotels, shopping centres, and industrial kitchens
- Water and wastewater — treatment facilities and process drainage
