Double Flanged Flat Taper Reducer
This is a double flanged flat taper reducer manufactured from ductile iron to EN 545, the European standard for ductile iron pipes, fittings, and accessories for water pipelines. Flanges are drilled to ISO 7005-2 PN16 pattern, allowing straightforward bolted connection at both ends. The flat (eccentric) taper profile enables a controlled transition between two pipe diameters while maintaining a level invert, which is particularly useful in pumping and metering installations.
The fitting is finished in blue epoxy coating, indicating suitability for potable water service. Many manufacturers supply these with WRAS-approved or Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coatings to meet drinking water regulations. Rated to PN16, the fitting handles working pressures up to 16 bar (approximately 232 psi), making it well suited to high-pressure municipal and industrial water networks.
Ductile iron (EN-GJS grades) provides high tensile strength, good impact resistance, and a long service life in both buried and above-ground installations.
Applications:
- Potable water distribution networks
- Water treatment plants and pump stations
- Reservoir and storage tank connections
- Municipal water mains and utility networks
- Industrial water supply systems
- Fire water mains and hydrant systems
- Raw water transfer
- Irrigation and agricultural water systems
